The Summer School Program and the Annual symposium are two key events under the Multi-Hazards Program. The Summer School has been hosted by Tohoku University since 2013 and the participants from various countries attend it every year. It also provides an opportunity to learn from the experience of the 2011 Great East Japan and Tsunami and its recovery process.
The Multi-Hazards Symposium is hosted by one of the APRU member universities to share the research outcomes and discuss challenges and issues in the field of disaster risk management. Nearly 100 researchers and experts from the region participate in the Symposium every year. Students are also encouraged to get involved in it actively for a poster presentation etc.
