The APRU-IRIDeS Multi-Hazards Summer School 2018 was held at the International Research Institute of Disaster Science (IRIDeS), Tohoku University on 24-27 July. The summer school was attended by more than 30 students and faculty members from 18 universities and organizations mainly in the Asia Pacific Rim. It also welcomed nearly 40 participants from the Northeast Asia Economic Forum’s Young Leaders Program on 24-25 July. In total more than 70 people attended this 4-day program. They learned about the impact and recovery process of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami and developed a DRR project proposal based on their own research in a group exercise.
